Fifty participants attended this Values Enrichment Program in Tagaytay.  The program aimed at making the wives of Magsaysay Maritime officers and staff….

1    Understand the importance of family and their roles as mothers/wives with their spouses physically absent for longer period:

• maintaining harmony and unity in the family
• teaching children love of God and others
• models of lives imbibing the values of integrity, honesty, responsibility, etc

2    Appreciate the need for savings and living simple and full lives

3    Realize the importance of being true to one’s commitment to family, community and God.

It was a program conducted by facilitators from Couples for Christ.  Methodologies used were mainly group activities, group discussions and sharing, lecture discussion, pantomime and reflections. Most relevant activity was “Living a Simple and Full Life, as per feedback received from some participants. There was not enough time to do a more comprehensive assessment so more feedback from the participants may be gathered by Magsaysay staff from the participants to determine effectiveness of the program.  Although the training started an hour late, it was able to cover all the topics.
